NEWS & EVENTS

October 2008

Heartwood has been awarded a $210,000 federal grant from the Job Opportunities for Low-income Individuals program to help create jobs and business opportunities for people receiving Temporary Aid to Needy Families and other low-income people.

The funds will be used over the next 3 years to provide deconstruction services, job skills training, and added-value, wholesale and retail sales of reclaimed building materials. Part of the funds will pay for new equipment to make the deconstruction team more competitive.  The goal is to create 14 new jobs over the next 3 years.
